the world of loss prevention. The course is designed for the
retail store associate or new loss prevention agent who may
be less familiar with general loss prevention terms and concepts.
Subject matter includes a broad overview of both external
and internal theft situations illustrated by video example.
The student is introduced to common terminology and practices
and educated on proper response and approach.
- ADVANCED: This course focuses on customer approach techniques
in external theft situations. The course is designed for the
associate who has a working knowledge and understanding of
the loss prevention process of apprehension and/or recovery.
TRAINING FOR LOSS PREVENTION: In today's multi-cultural
society, a need exists for a heightened awareness and sensitivity
to cultural perception and bias. Recognizing the issues increases
the ability to adapt ones approach to promote and ensure consistency
in professionalism and respect regardless of circumstances.
This course is designed to increase Loss Prevention's self-awareness
and skill development in maintaining respect in human relations.
USE OF FORCE:
This program is directed at the Retail Loss Prevention Associate
and applies use of force principles to detainment situations.
Students will be presented with varying levels of resistance
to apprehension and the appropriate level of physical force
ORIENTATION: This course is designed as an introduction

INVESTIGATIONS: This course is designed to educate loss
prevention personnel on critical loss prevention functions
and initiatives. The course will also train and demonstrate
various techniques for optimum job performance.
TRAINING: This program is designed to heighten your awareness
to the various factors that cause shortage. By making you
aware of the problems you can do your part to become part
of the solution and help keep shortage to a minimum.
This course is designed to demonstrate the role of loss
prevention in general store operation and in regards to emergency
procedures. The course focuses on the physical security of
the building and the company assets on a daily basis.
This course is designed to explain and demonstrate the
proper procedures in responding to and tracking EAS system
activation alarms. The course includes an overview of the
components of an EAS system, expectations for the proper use
and maintenance of both the system and the data generated
by the system.
TRAINING: This course introduces the student to the world
of APIS - the Asset Protection Information System. This program
is designed to provide an overview of basic operation and
navigation of the APIS system. Understanding how to use this
system effectively will greatly increase your productivity
in understanding, processing, and analyzing your loss prevention
CERTIFICATION AND TRAINING: This course will teach you
how to prevent and respond to external theft and make apprehensions
at Gap Inc. while remaining unbiased, professional and respectful
at all times. Although making apprehensions is not the main
focus of an LP agentís job responsibility at Gap, Inc., it
is still one of the companyís greatest concerns if handled
CITY TOUR II:
BEHAVIOR-BASED STORE VISITS: This program is designed
to take the District Sales Manager through the process of
a behavior-based store visit - a store visit that emphasize
the importance of training and coaching as a vehicle to drive
sales, control losses, and achieve operational excellence.
The goal of this program is to provide District Sales Managers
with the knowledge and information they need to conduct an
effective behavior-based store visit.
LOSS PREVENTION ORIENTATION: This program provides a general
introduction to Loss Prevention principles, guidelines and
expectations at the Limited Brands. The Course focuses on:
Building relationships for open communication and strong partnerships
to drive down shrink; Providing training to create a "Culture
of Honesty"; Heightening shrink reduction discussions;
And, providing an outstanding level of service, which will
increase sales and profitability.
SHRINK: This course will teach the District Manager to
reduce shrink through communicating, coaching and training
the store staff. It is dedicated to promoting a loss prevention
partnership, providing the District Manager with the real
world examples to maximize profitability and ensure optimal
service to the Limited Brands customer.
